Lila @ 5 weeks, 13 weeks, and 15 months
May 21, 2023 - Greater Kingsport Kennel Club (Tennessee)
A very nice start for Windsong's Blossom of the Heartland
With our current Biewer Terriers retired from their show careers, it is nice to see that a puppy born and raised from our kennel had a great start to her show career.
This is beautiful Lila, out of our very own Dolly (Windsong's Sweet Heartland Serenade). I had my eyes on this puppy almost right after she was born as a possible show prospect; as luck would have it as Lila matured, Dolly's breeder Debarah of Windsong Biewers also noticed the potential in this puppy and chose her as her "pick of the litter puppy back". As much as I'd hoped to keep her myself it was nice knowing that she was going to a wonderful show home.
On May 21, 2023 at 15 months old Lila took part in her first AKC show and placed Best of Breed over a line up of 5 other Biewer Terriers which also included one Champion, earning her a 4 point Major win! She is on her way to all that I hoped for her and I am thrilled.

Lincoln, NE - October 8-9, 2022

Winning with Winston in our home state of Nebraska at the Cornhusker Kennel Club dog show in Lincoln, NE. Winston won Best of Breed/Best of Breed Owner-Handled on both Saturday & Sunday for two 5 point majors.
In the National Owner-Handled Toy group rings, Winston continued to show well earning an NOHS Toy Group 4 placement on Saturday and an NOHS Toy Group 3 placement on Sunday.

Des Moines, IA - Sept 10-11, 2022
Back in the ring after Westminster and Winston is still going strong with SELECT DOG/BOBOH placements on both Saturday and Sunday, while continuing his success each day in the National Owner-Handled Toy Group earning a Group 4 win on both days as well.

Winston's Day of Fame as an Invitee/Entry to the Westminster Dog Show

Lyndhurst Estate - Tarrytown, NY
June 21, 2022
Being one of the TOP 5 Biewer Terriers to receive an invitation from the Westminster Kennel Club to take part in their prestigious Westminster Dog Show, AND to be the only invitee that was solely owner-handled (all other invitees had been previously shown to their champion title by professional handlers) was above and beyond anything I've ever dreamed of. A professional handler was hired for this important show, and I was on cloud 9 being there and able to watch Winston in the ring expertly handled by Jennifer Harper. Winston showed like the AKC Bronze Champion he is, but unfortunately did not win a placement showing amongst a large group of 12 beautiful Biewer Terriers. Still, I was proud of both Winston and myself for getting to be there as one of the TOP 5 Biewer Terriers to receive an invitation from the Westminster Kennel Club, and in our hearts Winston is and always will be a winner.

Our first time back in the ring together, Winston shows that he still has it, with 4 consecutive BOB/BOBOH wins in these two, 2-day shows. Doing well also in the group rings (showing alongside the professional handlers), we were also able to come home with a Toy Group 4 placement from the Grand Island shows and a very exciting NOHS Toy Group 1 win from Sunday's show in Tulsa! This was a first Group 1 for us and what fun it was to be in the ring for NOHS Best in Show.

AKC National Championship Cluster - December 14-19, 2021
This years trip to Orlando was both different and exciting! For all but one of the shows I was able to relax and watch the shows as Winston was in the ring being expertly shown by the handler we hired for Westminster in January. It was obvious that David Harper and Winston had already formed a nice bond in the short time they've been together and David and his team had Winston looking fabulous!! Together they placed as Best of Breed on day one of the show cluster, and also Best of Opposite in the AKC National Championship show on Saturday.
On Friday it was my turn to take Winston in the ring in the National Owner-Handled Finals where Winston and I also placed Best of Opposite.
Also showing in Orlando this year was a pup sired by our Winston. CHAMP (Heaven Sent DalCrista Heartland Gold) did well against other pups in his class, showing a confident attitude just like his daddy has.

Home Sweet Home in Nebraska
Nebraska Kennel Club show - October 9-10, 2021
What an exciting weekend this was for us! It's always exciting when we have a nice group of Biewer Terriers competing; this weekend there was a total of 13 showing. Both Skye and Winston earned a 5 point major on Saturday and Sunday, and with her win on Saturday Skye had the points she needed to received her AKC GRAND Champion title!! Winston took the BOB/BOBOH win both days and finished off the weekend by receiving a Group 4 placement not only in the NOHS show, but also a group 4 placement in the Toy Group!!!! This was the first time Winston and I placed in the Toy Group so you can imagine how excited I was! All in all a very fun and special weekend of shows in our home state of Nebraska.

On Sunday, the second day of the show Winston placed BOB/BOBOH, and won a Group 2 placement in the NOHS show later that day.

A very winning weekend for our Winston!

May 8-9, 2021 ~ Seward, NE.
Another exciting weekend in our home state of Nebraska. Our pretty little Skye (Ice Ice Baby Starlit Heartland Sky) placed Best of Opposite Sex the first day earning the last 3 points she needed to achieve her AKC Championship title! Skye earned this honor in just 4 months of showing AND at just 3 days shy of turning 9 months old! Quite an achievement for such a young pup. We are very excited & proud of this girl.

CH Windsong's Heaven Sent to the Heartland took BOB on Saturday going on to win a Group 3 placement in the NOHS Toy group. On Sunday, he placed Best of Opposite Sex. CH Winston needs only 6 more points to earn his GCH title.

March 31 - April 4, 2021
Claremore, OK.
We had such great success in this 5 day cluster of shows! On day 2, WINSTON won WD/BOW earning him the points he needed to finish his AKC CHAMPION title! We moved him up with the Specials for the rest of the week where he took "Select" dog twice and on the last day Winston placed WD and then took Best of Breed over a GCH along with a very nice line up of other Biewer Terriers
.
SKYE started the week by winning WB/BOS for a 3 pt major, continuing with a day as WB, and a couple of Reserve placings as well. Being just shy of 8 months old she is doing very well in the ring and needs only 4 more points for her CH title.

February 20-21, 2021
Des Moines, Iowa
What a great weekend with duplicate wins each day for Winston and Skye! Winston placed Winners Dog/Best of Breed both Saturday & Sunday, and Skye placed Winners Bitch/Best of Opposite Sex. As if that wasn't enough, their wins were also 3 point majors to boot!
This was Skye's very first time in a show ring as well as her first experience with the busy, noisy show atmosphere. She handled it like a champ. . . . the AKC champion we know she will be.

Our 1st Show as a part of the AKC Toy Group!
January 16-17, 2021 - Tulsa, OK
After the official move to the American Kennel Club's Toy Group on January 1, 2021, Winston and I had a GREAT start in our first time out showing! Winston placed as Winners Dog and Best of Opposite Sex on both days that weekend earning the two major wins needed as part of the points towards an AKC Champion title. With the two 3 point majors, he only need 9 more points to be earn the coveted "CH" in front of his name.

Oct. 23-25 - Shawnee, OK and Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 - Oklahoma City, OK

October 24, 2020 - Winston's BOB/BMISC win earns him the points he needed for his Certificate of Merit (CM) title!

"Winning with Winston" continues during a combined trip for 2 separate shows in the Oklahoma area with many Biewer Terriers. Three (3) consecutive BOB/BMISC wins in Shawnee earns Winston enough points to earn his CM (Certificate of Merit) title! Sharing the wins during the 5 days of Oklahoma City shows, Winston earns 2 BOB/BMISC and 3 BOS.

Cornhusker Kennel Club - Oct. 3-4, 2020

Finally back in the ring after a 6 month delay due to the COVID pandemic. Two days, 4 shows, showing along with a nice line up of 9 other Biewer Terriers, our very own Winston (Windsong's Heaven Sent to the Heartland) had an awesome return to the ring finishing the weekend with 2 BOB wins, 2 Best in Miscellaneous Show wins, and 1 BOS win! This was Winston's first time showing as an adult and we are thrilled at how nicely he has matured.

Orlando 2019

Our new little boy Winston and 9 month old bred by Mia made the trip to Orlando with us this year. Having moved up from FSS to MISC we were able to show in both the Open shows AND the regular AKC All Breed shows making it a very busy, show-filled week with 8 shows in 5 days! Both Mia and Winston did really well showing against many other beautiful Biewer Terriers and placed in the top 4 of their respective groups each day. When not showing in the ring, they were still showing their stuff at the club's Meet the Breeds booth, and Winston even had the fun of "playing the part" of the AKC National Champion winner as they set up stage & lighting for the real thing. Winston was also was part of a small group of puppies that was chosen to be filmed for a small segment that would be aired on Animal Planet on New Years Day.
So much fun showing our beautiful breed, shopping, and spending time with friends in beautiful Orlando weather!

Biewer Terriers move up from AKC-FSS to MISC class
July 5-7, 2019; Dallas, Tx. Our first time showing as MISC. Three days of showing in both Open and AKC All Breed Miscellaneous. What a fun, busy, and exciting weekend! Traveling with a friend is always fun, and then showing in two shows per day, meeting new friends, and of course winning is always fun!
Our BIG win for the weekend came when our very own 10 month old Heartland's Precious Jewel received her first (2) AKC points taking Best of Opposite in Sunday's All Breed Miscellaneous class! She was the only All Breed Miscellaneous Biewer Terrier winner that was owner handled and bred by to boot!!! We are SO PROUD of this beautiful little girl.

My time to enter the ring begins in October 2016. . . Newbie me along with new pup Sunny (Moore Bowwag Island Pair-A-Dice and Heartlands Hopes and Dreams do pretty well, earning points towards an AKC-FSS CM title the first time out. As it turns out, Hope was not happy living the hectic travel life of going to shows and with only 4 CM points earned I decided to let her be a stay at home "mom" when the time comes. Sunny on the other hand continued to strut his stuff in the ring and just 9 months later he earned the last of the 15 points needed to earn his Certificate of Merit title

HEARTLAND's FARRAH-EST OF THEM ALL

So excited, happy, and proud of the first Heartland bred puppy growing up and becoming not only a UKC (United Kennel Club) Champion, but also having earned her Certificate of Merit status as an AKC-FSS registered Biewer Terrier. AKC breeds that are in FSS or MISC status are not eligible to earn CH/champion points, but instead are awarded their Certificate of Merit title. The "CM" is place AFTER their registered name as opposed to the "CH" being place in front of a breed that is fully recognized by AKC.
Many thanks to her owner/handler for taking the time and dedication to take Heartland's Farrah-Est of Them All to the top in both UKC and AKC!

AKC Eukanuba Show: Orlando - Meet the Breeds
December 2014

With the acceptance of the Biewer Terriers into the AKC/FSS (Foundation Stock Service), AKC invited the Biewer Terrier Club of America to be a part of the Eukanuba National Championship Show in Orlando, Florida, Dec. 12-13-14, 2014. Even though FSS dogs are not yet eligible to be awarded points when showing with AKC, BTCA members and their AKC/BTRA registered Biewer Terriers were able to take part in the show. The BTCA was also invited to have a booth as part of the Meet the Breeds for the show/Expo. There were many visitors stopping by the Biewer Terrier booth to learn more about this new, beautiful, fun loving breed. How thrilled I was to be able to be there to witness and be a part of this exciting part of Biewer Terrier history!
